Trauma
As a certified complex PTSD therapist, I help patients recognize how their past experiences can have long-lasting effects on their mental health, relationships, thoughts and behaviour. I work with my clients to address their trauma and help them process repressed emotions in a safe and effective way. By exploring your past, through your own narrative, and using a combination of research-based interventions and a psychanalytic approach to trauma, we can get to the root cause of your current problems and work through to process the pain to ensure a healthier future.
Relationship Issues
As a psychotherapist, I believe that healthy, fulfilling relationships are essential to overall well-being. I use a relational approach in my work with clients, meaning that I prioritize understanding how clients relate to others in their lives, including family, friends, and romantic partners. Our early attachments, personality, beliefs and lived experiences all play an integral role in our adult relationships. If you are struggling in a current romantic relationship, have experienced a break-up or are hoping to repair a relationship that has endured hardship, I can help. Or maybe you have trouble acquiring or maintaining healthy relationships ? We are hardwired for connection, it is what gives our lives purpose but trauma rewires our brains for protection. Women's Issues
Being a woman is hard and some problems are uniquely female and require therapy through a feminist lens. Having minored in women's studies and experiencing my own plights as a woman, I specialize in providing compassionate care to individuals struggling with various issues from self-esteem issues, pregnancy loss or infertility to experiences of abuse. My lived experience as a woman and mother informs my practice, which prioritizes respect, empathy, and a safe space for growth and healing.
